Commentary

This MD deck has the same width of 280 mm as Sony's New Pixie series personal components.

The A/D converter is an over-sampling 1-bit A/D converter and the D/A converter is a hybrid pulse D/A converter with a built-in noise-shaping digital filter. The A/D converter is an over-sampling 1-bit A/D converter.

By simply pressing the record button, the unrecorded part is automatically found and recorded.
You can also record from the beginning of the song you want to delete or from the middle of any song.

Equipped with a smart space function, when there is more than 3 seconds of silence between songs during digital recording, it is automatically adjusted to approximately 3 seconds.

By using the multi-jog dial or remote control, you can enter up to 100 characters for each song and approximately 1,700 characters for the song name and disc name per disc.
The FL display for displaying titles is 12 characters long, and titles with 13 or more characters are scrolled from right to left.

Equipped with a TOC EDIT function, you can COMBINE two consecutive songs into one song, DIVIDE one song into two, MOVE to change the order of songs arbitrarily, and ERASE to erase a specific song.
DIVIDE and COMBINE also have a rehearse function that allows you to adjust edit points in approximately ± 60 ms steps.

Equipped with a multi-jog dial that realizes simple operation.
With the jog dial, you can operate the AMS function to start playing music by pressing the dial at the number of songs you want to listen to, program performance to rearrange songs in your preferred order, enter the title of each song, and TOC EDIT to divide or move songs.

Optical digital input / output terminal is mounted.
The MDS-S30 only supports signals with a sampling frequency of 44.1 kHz.

In combination with the New Pixie Series, you can use functions such as linkage of the power supply, automatic input switching of the amplifier, timer recording / playback, and CD synchronized recording.

You can play a program, scan music, shuffle music, and repeat one song / all songs / A-B.

Equipped with a disk-in auto power function that turns the power on just by inserting a disk.

It is equipped with a track marking function that automatically assigns music numbers at the time of recording assigns a track number at any position.

Equipped with a 15-segment digital peak meter.

It comes with a wireless remote controller that can record CD sync by combining with Sony's CD player.

Mono format discs are play-only.

It is equipped with a 4-megabit DRAM that can store music signals for up to about 8 seconds to prevent skipping sound.
In addition, taking advantage of memory storage, Memory Start playback, in which the sound starts immediately after the pause is released, is made possible.

Serial Copy Management System (SCMS) allows only one generation of digital recording and no more than two generations of digital recording.
