Commentary
This MD deck is designed with emphasis on sound quality such as wide bit stream technology.
Wide Bitstream Technology is introduced to improve the sound quality of MiniDisc.
Using the newly developed digital processing LSI for ATRAC as a key device, the A/D converter, the sampling rate converter, and the D/A converter all perform digital signal processing with over 16-bit accuracy, increasing the reproducibility of micro-level music signals.
In addition, high-quality chemical capacitors are used for analog circuits, and a center mechanical mounting system and an eccentric insulator are used to minimize the effects of vibration.
Equipped with an 18-bit sampling rate converter that automatically converts each sampling frequency from 48 kHz or 32 kHz to 44.1 kHz.
Equipped with a music sync recording function.
Simply by pressing the Music Sync button on the remote control and then starting playback of the connected CD player or cassette deck, recording will start automatically upon detection of incoming music signals. Recording will also stop when playback is finished.
It is equipped with a time machine recording function, and if you press the multi-jog dial in the recording pause state, the sound recorded up to 2 seconds before is recorded on the disc.
During normal recording, you can choose from three recording methods : automatically find and record the unrecorded portion, record from the beginning of the song you want to delete, and record from the middle of any song.
Equipped with the TOC EDIT function, it is possible to edit the disc such as linking, splitting, moving, etc. even after recording.
Equipped with an UNDO function that allows you to return to the state before editing and redo it.
In addition, DIVIDE and COMBINE have a rehearsal function that allows you to check edit points. With DIVIDE, you can fine-tune edit points in a range of up to -128 to + 127 steps (one step is approximately 0.06 seconds).
It is equipped with a title function that allows you to enter up to approximately 1,700 characters for the name of a song or disc per disc.
The MDS-JE500 allows you to enter katakana characters in addition to alphanumeric characters and symbols. In addition to the multi-jog dial and remote control, you can also enter directly using a remote commander (sold separately).
Monaural recording and playback is possible for up to 148 minutes (when using MDW-74A).
It is equipped with a smart space function that automatically adjusts the interval between songs to approximately 3 seconds during digital recording.
Equipped with performance modes such as shuffle, program and repeat.
Equipped with disk in and auto power function.
Parts such as gold-plated line input / output terminal, headphone terminal and power cord with polarity display are adopted.
SCMS (Serial Copy Management System) allows only one generation of digital recording, and no more than two generations of digital recording.
