MDS-J3000
Commentary

This MD deck has a common design with Sony's compact component system #3000 series.

We have introduced a wide bit stream technology that greatly expands the dynamic range and improves sound quality by increasing the number of bits in the digital circuit from 16 bits to more bits from the input system to the output system.
Based on this digital processing, the MDS-J3000 incorporates the current pulse D/A converter used in the ES Series CD player in the D/A converter section. The pulse output as voltage is replaced with a current that is less susceptible to fluctuations in the power supply voltage or voltage noise, and transmitted. This makes it possible to play music more efficiently because it has a stable current source and is not affected by voltage fluctuations.

Equipped with a sampling rate converter that automatically converts each sampling frequency of 48 kHz or 32 kHz to 44.1 kHz.
In addition, it is equipped with two optical input terminals and one coaxial input terminal for digital recording of various sources.

The power supply section uses an R-core transformer with no breaks in the iron core of the transformer and a circular doughnut type in cross section to greatly reduce magnetic flux leakage and vibration.

With the built-in Music Sync Recording function, it is also possible to record with other companies' CD players.
Simply by pressing the Music Sync button on the remote control and then starting playback of the connected CD player or cassette deck, recording will start automatically upon detection of the incoming music signal. Recording will also stop automatically when playback ends.

It is equipped with a time machine recording function, and if you press the multi-jog dial in the recording pause state, the sound up to 2 seconds before is recorded to the disk retroactively.

Equipped with the TOC EDIT function, it is possible to edit the disc such as connecting, dividing and moving the music after recording.
The MDS-J3000 includes an UNDO function that allows you to cancel your last edit and return to the original state, as well as an A-B ERASE function that allows you to erase between two specified points in a song.

It is equipped with a title input function that allows you to add disc names and song titles. In addition to alphanumeric characters and symbols, katakana characters can also be input. In addition to the multi-jog dial and remote control input, you can also input characters using a remote commander (sold separately) as if they were word processors.

It is equipped with a smart space function that automatically adjusts silence periods of 3 seconds or more to approximately 3 seconds during digital recording.

Equipped with disk in and auto power function.

Mono format discs are play-only.

SCMS (Serial Copy Management System) allows only one generation of digital recording, and no more than two generations of digital recording.
