SDP-777ES
Commentary

A surround processor that supports Dolby Pro Logic Surround.

In addition to the delay of the audio signal, the matrix synthesis corresponding to each surround position is processed by a digital circuit. This eliminates the phase rotation of the delay sound, which tends to occur with analog delay, and provides a surround effect with excellent sense of localization.
At the center of this digital circuit is a newly developed C-MOS IC, High-speed Presence Synthesizer CXD 1079. This is a built-in C-MOS IC with all calculation parts such as multipliers and adders and interfaces with peripheral ICs. It enables real-time high-speed digital signal processing high-speed digital signal processing to obtain sound field effects. In addition, by integrating the interface into one chip, digital noise and unnecessary radiation, which are problems in digital audio equipment, are greatly reduced.

The A/D and D/A converters are linear with 16-bit quantization bits and an integral type with a sampling frequency of 48.0 kHz. As a result, the delay signal is of the same quality as DAT and has superior characteristics compared to the analog delay of the conventional BBD method.

The SDP-0ES is equipped with a digital delay adjustment function. The delay time can be controlled in 0.1 msec steps within the range of 0.1 to 80 msec (10 to 30 msec for Dolby Surround playback) independent of L/R. 777
In addition, up to three types of L/Rch independently adjusted delay times can be stored in each mode, and can be recalled with one touch.

It is compatible with Dolby Pro Logic. The directional enhancement circuit expands the front and rear separation from about 3 dB to more than 25 dB and improves sound localization.
The SDP-777ES does not have an amplifier, but can be used by adding a stereo power amplifier and speaker for surround to the stereo system, a mono power amplifier and speaker for front center can be added to clarify the center position of speech, etc. It also has an L + R mono center line output for sub-woofer.

Other surround positions include presence, matrix, hall, simulated stereo, and reverb.
Presence and Reverb are functions that are not displayed on the console. You can select Presence by pressing the Hall button while holding down the Set button, and Reverb by pressing the Simulated button while holding down the Set button.

It comes with a wireless remote control that can perform most operations except for power ON/OFF.
The following six functions can be operated only with the remote control : simultaneous L/R up/down of the delay time, Bass up/down of the Dolby in a round, L/R independent up/down of the rear speaker, L/R independent up/down of the center speaker, low-pass filter switching when in the hole position, and Rear phase switching.

Equipped with an AV selector function that can control four video and audio sources for TV tuners and VCR, and one audio-only input system for CD.
