Commentary
An AV amplifier with 24 surround modes such as Dolby Pro Logic.
Equipped with a 5.1 ch input terminal for Dolby digital processor, it can be combined with SDP-EP9ES to build Dolby digital home theater system.
The signal at the 5.1 ch input terminal does not pass through the DSP section but is directly led to the volume section.
It supports Dolby Pro Logic.
The analog input is digitized by the internal A/D converter and processed by the DSP, enabling high-precision decoding. The surround mode is equipped with 24 modes including Dolby Pro Logic, allowing you to enjoy a variety of sound effects.
The power supply section is equipped with a large transformer with a mass exceeding 6 kg.
In the conventional EI core transformer, E-type and I-type magnetic steel sheets are individually laminated and then combined (welded or bonded) to form the core. The transformer used in the TA-VA8ES has a wrap-packed structure in which I-type and E-type magnetic steel sheets are alternately stacked on top of E-type magnetic steel sheets. Although this structure takes time to manufacture, it is advantageous in terms of sound quality. Since there is no fault section in the magnetic path, leakage of magnetic flux is sharply reduced and the influence on the audio circuit is reduced.
The TA-VA8ES electrolytic capacitor used in the power supply is a sound-quality-oriented capacitor manufactured for the TA-VA8ES. The capacity is also matched to the capacity of the transformer, and the total capacity of the amplifier section is 51,600 μ F to provide extra capacity.
An S. T. D. t. D. type power supply circuit that provides almost the same effect as the S. T. D. power supply used in the ES series amplifier.
In this circuit, a diode is inserted into the voltage amplifier stage (A class stage) to prevent reflux. Even if the power amplifier stage (B class stage) consumes a large amount of current instantaneously, the power amplifier stage continues to operate stably.
In addition, the レギューレーター heat sink for the power supply for small signals used in surround circuits is made of either pure copper with high thermal conductivity or copper-plated, depending on the amount of current passing through, to improve voltage stability.
Equipped with a direct path switch.
When this switch is ON, you can enjoy the sound of the input source without surround sound. In this state, tone control and bus boost circuits are also bypassed.
This function can be operated from the remote control.
A parallel push-pull circuit is adopted for the front L/R and center channel of the power stage, and two NPN type and PNP type transistors are used respectively.
To achieve more stable operation, the TA-VA8ES has developed a parallel transistor with two parallel NPN NPN elements and two parallel PNP elements on the same plate, so that the temperature environment and amplification characteristics are matched.
In addition, a large plate is used for mounting the elements, and stability is further enhanced by preventing sudden temperature changes.
The heat sink uses a large extruded aluminum heat sink that is tuned to reduce harmful fin squeal. The heat sink itself is firmly fixed to the chassis body and structurally reduces vibration.
In addition, the power transistor is arranged so that the front L channel and front R channel, which are the most important channels for channel separation, are separated into separate heat sinks to obtain good separation characteristics.
The volume is equipped with 6 series volume using die-cast frame.
In this volume, the mounting part to the chassis, which is usually fixed with screws at the base of the rotating shaft, is fixed with a die-cast frame stopper. This greatly reduces the wobble of the shaft and reduces the turbidity of sound quality caused by vibration at the contact point.
The FB chassis is used for the chassis, and the whole chassis is firmly fixed as one box by the frame (Frame) surrounding the outer circumference and the beam (Beam) passed in front and back. The members are also designed to have different shapes and sizes to change the natural vibration mode and cancel each other's vibration when they are joined with screws.
In addition, the digital calculation section separates the internal beam from the audio circuit to prevent mixing of digital noise.
Equipped with a device name naming function, you can set and change the device name to be displayed on the display (e.g. Video1 → VHS), so that the display can be adjusted according to the system configuration.
Equipped with a background operation function, you can start recording on a tape deck while listening to a CD such as starting recording on a tape deck while listening to a CD.
You can tune up by adjusting various parameters based on your preferred mode. Tuning can be done with the rotary encoder or remote control.
Compatible with 3-1 stereo.
The TA-VA8ES can be used with the 5.1 ch input when a Dolby digital processor or DVD player is not connected. However, the RK-C210 cable (sold separately) is required for connection.
Remote controller with learning function is included.
This remote control can operate not only the amplifier itself but also Sony's AV equipment. If it is an infrared remote control type, it can also operate other manufacturers' equipment by reading remote control signals.
