Commentary

An AV preamplifier equipped with the latest digital cinema sound technology and also compatible with DTS.

These include large-capacity power transformers, electrolytic capacitors for power supplies, signal switching relays, and MELF-type resistors, all of which are carefully selected from those used in Sony's high-end Component R Series.

Digital i-volume is used for the volume part.
The digital i-volume is designed to take advantage of the characteristics of the current pulse D/A converter. With the current pulse D/A converter, the level of the output audio waveform can be changed by changing the value of the current source. Therefore, the digital i-volume is controlled by indicating the amount of current through the built-in microcomputer.
As a result, the analog volume, which is sensitive to vibration, does not exist on the circuit, including for balance adjustment, and the volume can be adjusted without losing the resolution of digital data up to the final output terminal.

It is equipped with a jitter-free D/A converter system. By performing D/A conversion using the clean clock signal of the oscillator installed immediately adjacent to the D/A converter, the jitter component (fluctuation of time axis) contained in the input clock is removed.
The jitter-free signal is converted into a pulse-modulated waveform by high-speed operation at 50 MHz using an advanced pulse conversion method, a method unique to Sony that does not generate high-frequency distortion even in 1-bit D/A conversion methods.

A current pulse D/A converter is used for the D/A converter.
Since the Advanced Pulse converted signal is a pulse train represented by a voltage, passing this signal through a low-pass filter produces an audio waveform as it is. However, the voltage pulse signal is susceptible to fluctuations in the power supply voltage, and is also susceptible to voltage-induced noise generated by digital circuits. Therefore, the current pulse D/A converter uses a clean current source for switching using voltage pulses to generate current pulses, thereby making it less susceptible to voltage fluctuations.

The A/D converter is equipped with CXD8607 as an LSI for the A/D converter.

To enable high-quality D/A conversion of digital signals, a 96 kHz / 24-bit interface receiver is adopted. The transmission speed of the coaxial digital input terminal is increased to 96 kHz, twice the normal transmission speed, and the usable bit tone is 24-bit.
The input digital signal passes through the DSP section and is converted into an audio signal by a D/A converter. The D/A converter also has the ability to convert a 96 kHz signal into an audio waveform without downsampling.

We have introduced new digital cinema sound technology with higher computing power than before.
The TA-E9000ES uses two 32-bit DSPs from Shinkai to dramatically improve calculation accuracy and sound quality. In addition, the 32-bit DSP is used to receive the 32-bit DSP data for the decoder without any loss.
The new Digital Cinema Sound is equipped with a Virtual Theater mode that combines the Cinema Studio mode and the Virtual 3D mode. This mode is equipped with two types of modes : a mode in which an actual rear speaker is installed, and a mode in which only the front speaker is used.

Equipped with SHARC, a 32-bit DSP made by Analog Devices Inc. for decoding Dolby digital.
The SHARC is a 32-bit floating-point DSP that provides better sound quality than that of traditional 20-24 bit precision fixed-point DSPs.

The RS 232 c interface is installed for upgrading the surround program.

It comes with a bi-directional remote control with a 4.5 inch liquid crystal touch panel.

For the TA-E9000ES, two types of upgrade kits were released.
The VUCD-E9000A can support Cinema Studio EX and Virtual Matrix 6.1 developed after the release of the TA-E9000ES.
The BS-E 9000 b is compatible with MPEG-2 AAC decoding, which is a VUCD digital audio system.
