Commentary
AV amplifier equipped with DSP and Dolby Pro Logic.
Five amplifiers are used : front L/R, rear L/R and center.
To further enhance the sound localization characteristic of Dolby Pro-Logic Surround, the center channel is compatible with the dual center system and has two pairs of output jacks for connecting two speakers.
Using an equalizer that uses a digital signal processor (DSP), the front and rear center speakers are designed to be tone controlled independently. This allows individual equalization to be performed according to the purpose and size of each speaker.
A test tone generator is built in to make it easier to balance each speaker.
Uses Dolby Prologic for full digital signal processing.
In the TA-AV850D, in addition to the delay and noise reduction parts of the circuits that make up the Dolby Pro Logic, the steering logic (directional enhancement circuit) has been digitized to improve the sense of sound movement, localization and separation.
Equipped with digital and auto input balance, it detects the level error between L and R that is mixed into the audio signal during software production, and automatically adjusts to the optimum level at all times.
It supports 4 modes of normal / wide / phantom / 3 ch logic so that it can be used other than 5 channels.
In addition to the Dolby Pro Logic Surround, 9 surround modes are preset.
The preset surround settings are Hall 1, Hall 2, Opera, Church, Jazz Club, Disco, Stadium, Live Concert, Theater, and Dolby Surround.
All audio inputs can be processed by DSP or digital processing, and sound fields can be created according to your preference.
Bass/Mid (parametric type) / Treble method can be adjusted for equalization, and 9 levels of compression (compressor) and expansion (expander) can be adjusted for dynamics control.
The six main parameters (Room/Wall/Seat position/Effect level/Reverb time/Delay time) and three subparameters (Center level/Rear level/Input balance (when Auto input balance off)) can be adjusted by default.
With the TA-AV850D, you can freely create sound fields based on preset modes. You can store up to 10 modes of sound fields as user presets.
1-bit type A/D and D/A converters are used for the D/A converter and the A/D converter, respectively. Compared with conventional stepped Namikata converters, the D/A converter does not generate any distortion in principle and has good phase characteristics.
The D/A converter in particular employs a newly developed pulse D/A converter that converts digital data into dense and sparse waves with pulses close to the natural music waveform, thereby improving sound quality.
The pre-out output of the front channel is mounted.
Up to 8 characters can be displayed on the display by entering alphabets and symbols for the name of the connected device.
A programmable remote controller is included.
With this remote controller, remote control signals of AV devices other than Sony can be memorized for all keys.
