Commentary

An AV amplifier compatible with Dolby Pro Logic, developed with the know-how of ES series such as G chassis and S. T. D. power supply.

The G-chassis has been adopted for the chassis structure in pursuit of vibration-free and resonance-free design.
The G-chassis is made of unsaturated polyester with calcium carbonate, the main component of marble, and reinforced with glass fiber. Compared with metal, this material has higher internal loss and better vibration damping characteristics. It also has higher strength and can be processed with higher precision. In addition, because it is non-magnetic and non-metal, there is no magnetic distortion induced by magnetic fields such as transformers and condensers, and the deterioration of sound quality is reduced. In addition, there is little change over time due to expansion and contraction caused by temperature difference.
The shape of the G-chassis is determined by carefully checking the acoustic characteristics to eliminate partial resonance and split vibration. In addition, the thickness of each part of the chassis is increased by running ribs vertically and horizontally, and rigidity is increased. The thickness and spacing of ribs are also changed randomly to avoid any specific resonance mode.

The front chassis, terminal panel and case are also mounted on the G-chassis so that they reinforce each other with connecting angles at important points on the G-chassis, thereby realizing a stronger chassis structure.

The S. T. D. power supply (Spontaneous Twin Drive) is used for the power supply. In this power supply, the rectifier circuit is independent for the A-class stage, which amplifies the voltage of the input signal, and for the power stage, which amplifies the power. This ensures stable operation without interference.

Uses die-cast heat sink with excellent heat radiation effect.

By separating the audio and video circuit boards, mutual interference is reduced.

The power amplifier section is composed of 5 channels, and the power amplifier sections at the front and center are composed of discrete components from the drive stage to the output stage.
The center channel supports a dual-center system that allows two speakers to be connected.

In addition to Dolby Pro Logic, the surround mode is equipped with 4 types of surround sound by DSP.
In addition, four parameter controls are available for each of the five preset modes, and an acoustic controller is used to adjust the parameters.
The tone control uses a multi-control system that can control the front, rear and center tone quality independently.

The AV function section is equipped with a total of 12 systems consisting of two audio input Line 5 and outputs, seven image input (S-image Line 5) and outputs Route 3 (S-image 2), and center outputs and mono outputs.

The power amplifier uses audio resistors coated with non-magnetic insulating paint and audio Chemi-Con for which sound quality has been examined.

Equipped with auto input balance. This circuit detects the level error between L and R and automatically adjusts it to improve sound localization and movement.

It is equipped with a mix mode that can output any combination of video and audio sources.
It also has a Rec out selector function that allows you to record from a CD while watching the video.

There are 2 kinds of variations, the black TA-AV650 and the titanium gray TA-AV650G with side wood.

A programmable remote controller is included.
