A preamplifier developed by combining Sony's numerous technologies.

In order to minimize the generation of intermodulation distortion, which is the most harmful of the HiFi reproduction systems, we use an FET developed exclusively for audio and a silicon transistor with high withstand voltage and excellent features.
An FET is used in the first stage of each unit amplifier through which a signal passes to achieve excellent transmission characteristics.

It is designed with a maximum sensitivity of 1.2 mV and a maximum allowable input of 300 mV in consideration of the output applied to the head amplifier.
Therefore, a high-voltage transistor and a power supply voltage of 150 V are designed so that distortion does not occur at the front stage of volume.
The Phono1 also incorporates a grounded FET head amplifier with a maximum sensitivity of 0.06 mV (allowable input of 15 mV) so that low-power MC cartridges can be used as they are.
We have also succeeded in obtaining an allowable input of 1 v or higher for the microphone amplifier so that it can be used even at the high output of a professional microphone.

The meter and meter amplifier are highly accurate enough to satisfy the BTS standard in both frequency characteristics and linearity characteristics.
By using this VU meter, it is possible to check the frequency characteristics of frequency records and standard tapes during playback of records and tapes.
In addition, by using a microphone whose characteristics are known and using test records and tapes, it is possible to check the acoustic state of the entire reproduction system including the listening room. Therefore, a special microphone amplifier is built in separately from other source systems.

If two tape decks are connected, printing can be performed only by switching the function lever.
In addition, you can mix from the microphone while printing the tape.

The turnover frequency can be changed to 500 Hz and 250 Hz in the low range and to 2.5 kHz and 5 kHz in the high range. In addition, a variable turnover type is adopted in which the turnover point automatically changes depending on the compensation amount (position of the knob).
The compensation amount is accurate in 2 dB steps, so you can enjoy the best condition according to the program source, speaker characteristics and sound characteristics of the room.
There is also a tone cancel switch that instantly switches to a flat characteristic by skipping the tone control circuit regardless of the position of the knob.

Both low filter (50 hz) and high filter (9 khz) have built-in genuine passive filter with sharp shoulder characteristics.

The level adjustment attenuators are attached to the Phono2, Tuner, AUX1, AUX2, and Tape1 inputs, so you can adjust the level to match the level of Phono1 so that you can enjoy the same level even if you switch the inputs.

It is equipped with a high-quality headphone output that can be used directly as a line out output. It has a dedicated quasi complimentary service SEPP circuit built in and a dedicated volume.

It is equipped with various input / output terminals such as center channel output terminal, 2 sets of pre-out terminals, pre-out level switching, 3 sets of AUX terminals and 2 sets of Phono terminals.

Phono1 can be switched to 5 impedance types, Low 0.06 mv (10 Ω, 30 Ω) and High 1.2 mv (33k Ω, 47k Ω, 82k Ω) through the head amplifier of FET.
