Commentary
A speaker system based on the Model2115, an JBL professional unit.
The unit is equipped with Model2115 which is a 20 cm cone type full range unit.
The magnetic circuit uses an Alnico V magnet, which is housed in a return circuit made of cast iron to minimize magnetic flux leakage. The center pole piece is coated with pure silver and functions as an impedance control ring.
The voice coil has a 50 mm diameter and uses JBL's unique edge-wound aluminum ribbon. Dumped Duralumin Dome directly attached to the voice coil bobbin realizes clear playback.
Aluminum die-cast is used for the frame to minimize deformation even at high output.
To bring out the characteristics of the professional unit, the enclosure is equipped with acoustic particle boards, the baffle plate is made of Scandinavian birch plywood and the Yonematsu is used for reinforcement, the material is made with the latest care, the baffle plate is mounted with hozo, and the other plates are joined with sufficient reinforcement by spline and angle block.
It is a 2-way system with an easy-to-upgrade enclosure structure and can be converted into a 2-way speaker system by using JBL Pro Tweeter Model 2405 or Network Model 3105.
The exterior is finished with walnut oil. In addition, the front grill uses handmade Shippo kumiko made of natural cypress wood for an elegant finish.
