LM033
Commentary

This speaker system was developed by studying and measuring response characteristics and phase characteristics for pulses in the middle and high frequency range in an actual listening room.

In the LM (Linear-Motion) series, a sound path is provided to guide the air behind the cone tweeter to the outside. By reducing the damping to the cone paper due to the viscosity of the air, the pressure is equalized between the front and back of the cone paper, and linear vibration is realized.
In addition, the sound quality is improved by actively utilizing the sound pressure from the back, and the frequency characteristics in an anechoic room almost match the energy characteristics in an actual listening room. Especially, the energy characteristics above 5 kHz are flat.

A 25.5 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
This unit uses a non-press type cone paper with multi-corrugation to provide the cone paper with the necessary and sufficient rigidity and appropriate internal loss to suppress split vibration. The lightweight cone paper also reduces the weight of the vibration system to improve transient response and improve sound quality.
In order to change the suspension ratio of the damper and the edge, the edge is corrugated to improve the characteristic of retaining the circular pattern of cone paper. This not only improves the response but also improves the linearity from small input to large input.
A concave radiator is used in the center of the diaphragm to improve the phase characteristics in the high-frequency range of the woofer and improve the sound quality near the connection with the tweeter. Furthermore, by sharply cutting unnecessary high-frequency bands, the sound quality above the crossover frequency is improved.

A 6.5 cm cone type tweeter is installed in the high range.
This unit uses a convex radiator with a large overhang ratio to prevent phase interference at the inner part of the cone paper. The voice coil uses 0.12 mmC. C. A. W. (copper-coated aluminum wire) to reduce the weight of the vibration system and improve conductivity.

The woofer of the network uses a special core that minimizes DC resistance, which deteriorates the damping factor, and does not increase the distortion factor at the time of Dainyu force.
In addition, a low-loss, non-polar electrolytic capacitor with very low loss in the high frequency range is adopted, which covers the loss at 10 khz or more.

Equipped with continuously variable level control for high range adjustment.

In order to eliminate the 200 Hz to 300 Hz cover on the baffle surface of the enclosure, the baffle width is adjusted to the width of the woofer and the enclosure has a vertically long shape. In addition, by adopting the double baffle structure with the addition of the baffle plate for the woofer, the baffle plate of the woofer is thick, and the unnecessary low-frequency sound caused by the sound of the baffle is shut out. The thickness of the baffle is 38 mm for LM033.
