Commentary
The first Sansui CD player.
The pickup section employs a newly developed light-weight semiconductor pickup designed to be smaller and lighter. In combination with a high-precision 3-spot tracking servo and a focus servo that always accurately connects the light beam of a semiconductor laser and captures a sharp pit, more stable and accurate tracing capability is obtained.
The mechanism section employs a pick-up feed servo and a CLV servo. The pick-up feed servo moves the pick-up faithfully at intervals of 1.6 μ m. The CLV (Contact Linear Velocity) servo accurately controls changes in rotational speed of 500 rpm / min at the innermost circumference and 200 rpm at the outermost circumference.
For the mechanism part consolidated by these two servos, high-precision die-cast aluminum chassis with excellent follow-up performance and low-wow flutter motor with high response performance are adopted.
In order to cut off unwanted components of the digital signal sent from the decoder other than the music signal included in the ultra-high frequency range, a digital filter with excellent frequency and phase characteristics and sharp cut-off characteristics is used.
The D/A converter uses an independent twin D/A converter on the left and right sides, enabling accurate left and right in-phase conversion, improving phase characteristics and orientation.
The analog section uses a discrete circuit composed of 13 stones per channel to improve sound quality.
In addition, semiconductors and various other parts are carefully selected to create a simple and straight circuit structure.
In the power supply section, the power transformer is composed of three independent windings, an analog section, a digital mechanism section, a microcomputer and a display section, to minimize interference between each section.
It is equipped with functions such as random access selection of up to 99 songs, program memory function of 15 songs, single cue function, dual memory function which can play between any two points, and intro skip function which plays all songs for 10 seconds each.
Equipped with a Computer Edit function, it can be linked with a Sansui cassette tape deck equipped with a Computer Edit function with a single cord.
It comes with a wireless remote control that can be operated from a remote location.
