Commentary

A compression driver equipped with an aluminum annular slit on a phasing plug that prevents phase disturbance of sound waves.

The diaphragm uses 10 cm diameter pure beryllium, an ultra-lightweight and highly rigid material made by vacuum evaporation technology.
In addition to excellent conversion efficiency in the high-frequency range, the edge portion is made of beryllium that is integrated with the dome portion, enabling wide-range playback with an extremely wide bandwidth for this diameter driver.

By adopting a rear compression system, the effect of edge resonance is reduced. Furthermore, air gap resonance in the edge and inside the magnetic circuit is analyzed and improved to realize more natural sound quality.

The throat diameter is set to 39 mm in consideration of diffusion in the high frequency range.

A neodymium magnet is used for the magnetic circuit to achieve a 20,000 gauss magnetic flux density and a 1.5 inch (approximately 39 mm) throat.

The direct power supply terminal reduces the influence of internal AC magnetic flux and sound pressure.
