Commentary

A ribbon tweeter that inherits the know-how accumulated in the PT-R7A and can be added to an existing speaker system as a super tweeter.

A built-in network with a crossover frequency of 10 kHz and attenuation characteristics of 12dB/oct.
Therefore, by simply connecting the PT-R5 as it is, it is possible to improve the energy characteristics above 10 kHz.

Ultra-high-frequency playback at 120 kHz is achieved by using an ultra-lightweight diaphragm, a feeding system with significantly reduced inductance, and a matching transformer with low-loss design.

The feeding method is a unique method developed by Pioneer, in which two copper plates on the outward and homeward paths are held in close contact with each other through thin insulation, and the ribbon and copper plates are placed as close to each other as possible in a balanced manner. This eliminates the magnetic flux generated by each conductor and greatly reduces inductance.

In order to transmit the excellent vibration of the ribbon directly to the air, it is a short horn design taking advantage of the merits of the direct radiator.

It also has a direct connector that passes through the built-in network.
