This FM stereo tuner is equipped with a photo-logic system and quartz lock synthesizer to improve the tuning accuracy.

It uses a quartz synthesizer system that reliably receives frequencies every 100 kHz by applying the accuracy of quartz.
There is no drift due to temperature change or humidity change because the local oscillation frequency is locked by comparing the phase of the divided local oscillation frequency with the reference frequency made divided local oscillation frequency.

It uses a photo-logic method. The bit of the code pattern integrated with the scale plate is exposed to light and read by the phototransistor to indicate the local oscillation frequency. The bit at the position where the dial pointer (indicator) with 9 phototransistors and 2 lamps built-in indicates the local oscillation frequency, so there is no scale deviation.
In addition, by adopting dial tuning, the RF amplifier has the advantage of being able to use a varicon with high Q (selectivity characteristic). By using all five series varicon for selective tuning of the RF amplifier, high interference rejection capability is obtained.
In addition, since the dial scale is integrated with the code pattern panel, there is no scale error, and since the point at which the station indicator lights becomes the proper tuning point, there is no need for delicate control of the indicator by using the center meter as well as the conventional one.

In the local oscillator circuit, a high SN ratio is ensured by dividing the receiving band of the varicap (variable capacitance diode) into two, 76 MHz to 83.2 MHz and 83.3 MHz to 90 MHz, and narrowing the variable capacitance range.

It is equipped with a parallel balanced linear detector which is further developed from the conventional ultrawide-band linear detector.
Both Wide and Narrow of the IF section are adopted in the F-007, and low distortion factor is realized over the whole band.

The MPX section is equipped with a clean pilot system that extracts only a pure 19 kHz pilot signal and adds it to the PLL circuit.

If the 19 kHz pilot signal is mixed into the playback sound, the high-frequency characteristics are degraded, and the bias frequency and deflection of the deck are generated during air check. Therefore, the F-007 employs a pilot signal auto-cancel circuit to cancel the pilot signal.
In this circuit, Pioneer has developed a circuit method that automatically follows fluctuations in transmission levels and reliably cancels them out, and a low-pass filter that attenuates 38 kHz carrier signals can set the resonance point at 23 kHz, of 23 kHz.
This expands the high-frequency response.

The signal intensity meter can read the antenna input directly from 20 dBf to 100 dBf at the new IHF.

Equipped with a Rec level check for level adjustment during FM air check.
In addition, muting, MPX noise filter and multi-pass output terminal are mounted.
