TAD started in 1975 (Technical Audio Devices)The high-end speaker system developed as an ultimate home youth speaker which responds to all environments, such as DVD-Audio and a play of a high-resolution format like SACD, from the conventional audio play.

Speaker engineer who played an active part in KEF or Infinity It was developed focusing on Mr. Andrew Jones by the R&D development block in the United States, the Pioneer TAD development team, and the international engineer team by northeast Pioneer. Moreover, the Japanese TAD development team took charge of the speaker unit, Andrew Jones took charge of the total coordination and the speaker system, and they were developed.

Two 25cm cone type Woofers are carried in low-pass, and the 20cm cone type Woofer is carried in inside low-pass.
The newly developed OFGMS (Optimized Field Geometry Magnet Structure) magnetic circuit is adopted as the magnetic circuit of a Woofer and a mid bus. In order to cancel the nonlinear component by the magnetic circuit which remains slightly in the conventional short voice coil type magnetic circuit, flux density in a magnetic circuit is made uniform by preparing a slit in the plate located in the outside of a voice coil.

As a mid-high range and an object for high regions, the CST coaxial unit (16cm and 3.5cm) is carried.
In the CST (Coherent Source Transducer) driver, it has a structure which has arranged the mid range cone designed by the optimal form in the director part in the directive control of a tweeter. According to this structure, the phase of a driver and the response problem of an axial gap are solved conventionally. Moreover, axial symmetry is reproduced in the same sound balance in every orientation from the hub of CST over a wide band by making the phase of a tweeter and a mid range the same.
Moreover, the beryllium currently used also for TAD for pros is adopted as a diaphragm. The play precision is raised, while realizing a high rigidity and an internal loss to the extent that it does not think with a metals by join of particles and driving away a diaphragm vibration of a drive unit to an audible play out-of-band by using the vapor-depositing method for a fabrication.

The SILENT enclosure (Structurally Inert Laminated Enclosure Technology) is adopted as the enclosure. The structure made from the Birch (birch) plywood layer processed into each exceeding 50 is adopted, and even as for the part, the design is strictly carried out to one form so that the stationary wave in a cabinet may not occur. Thereby, since it does not have a joint of a cabinet, it has a structure which does not produce the excessive oscillation by the reaction force or sound pressure of a Woofer easily, either.
Moreover, it is attached so that the International-Organization-for-Standardization(Isolation) Drive technology may be introduced, and the speaker upper portion which has arranged CST may be separated from the speaker lower which is an enclosure for basses and the CST itself may intercept an oscillation from a top enclosure. It dissociates from the unnecessary oscillation which this emits with a woofer, or a vibration of a cabinet completely, and the capacity of the CST driver is pulled out.
