Commentary

Floor-type speaker system with beryllium ribbon tweeter and large passive radiator.

A 26 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The diaphragm is made of carbon graphite with high rigidity and high airtightness, resulting in a smooth response due to high internal loss, Young's modulus and sound propagation speed.
In addition, a dynamic response suspension is adopted and a strontium ferrite magnet is used for the magnetic circuit.
The mid-range is equipped with a 6.6 cm cone type mid-range that uses a carbon graphite diaphragm as well as the low-range.

In order to realize ultra-low frequency reproduction, a 36 cm large-diameter cone-type passive radiator using carbon graphite diaphragm is mounted.
The suspense part uses Pioneer's traditional technology of wire suspension, and has good linearity response from minute input to large input.
This passive radiator, combined with an enclosure with an internal volume of 93L, vibrates only in the ultra-low-frequency range of 30 Hz to 80 Hz instead of the woofer, enabling powerful low-frequency playback. Moreover, the passive radiator absorbs energy in this band, greatly reducing the woofer's vibration and preventing sound loss in the middle and low-frequency range during high-volume playback. This passive radiator also suppresses the woofer's vibration below the playback frequency.

A ribbon type tweeter is installed for the high frequency band.
Beryllium, which is lightweight and highly rigid, is used for the diaphragm, and combined with Pioneer's original structure that directly drives the vibration system itself, it realizes high rigidity and high input resistance.

The enclosure is a floor type and has a structure similar to a tall boy because it does not take much floor space compared to the internal volume.
The baffle plate units are concentrated so that sound image localization becomes clear, and by introducing a symmetrical design, stable sound image localization is realized.
The finish makes use of the grain of the walnut.
