Commentary

This is an improved speaker system of the S-55twin, which follows the characteristics of the vertical twin system and is more complete as a speaker system.

It adopts a vertical twin system and improves low sound reproduction by using two woofers.
In addition, since the acoustic energy of the two woofer matches the axis of the tweeter, the sound connection from the low range to the high range is smooth, and directivity and phase characteristics are excellent.
In addition, not only the unit but also the enclosure reinforcement and bass reflex duct are laid out symmetrically in the vertical direction. This reduces the interference of vertical standing waves generated inside the enclosure and improves resolution in the low-frequency range.

For the low range, two 14 cm cone-shaped woofers with high rigidity cone laminated with polymer film are used.
Even if it is set adjacent to a TV monitor, it is designed so that color unevenness does not occur.

A dome type tweeter using a 2.5 cm ceramic carbon diaphragm with carbon purity of 99.9% is adopted for the high range.
Alnico magnet is used for the magnetic circuit.

In order to prevent the vibration of each unit from being transmitted to the baffle through the frame, a midship mounting system is adopted.
The magnetic circuit of each unit is fixed to the inner baffle, which reduces the transmission of unnecessary vibration from the unit and suppresses unnecessary vibration of the baffle.
In addition, in order to reduce reflection and diffraction phenomenon of sound, round baffle plate is adopted, and in addition, suede finish is applied to the baffle surface.

The speaker terminal is bi-wired and can be fed by a dedicated cord by separating the low and high frequency circuits.

There was a speaker stand CP-55 sold separately. This stand can be integrated with the S-55twinSD by screw fastening.
In addition, it comes with a sandbag (plastic bag) that can be inserted into the legs for acoustic tuning.
