Commentary
A speaker system developed taking advantage of the characteristics of Pioneer's studio monitor.
It uses an in-line coaxial arrangement double woofer with a tweeter at the center and a woofer at the top and bottom to obtain excellent low-sound reproduction capability and phase characteristics.
Instead of arranging each unit vertically and vertically symmetrically, the enclosure reinforcement and the duct of the bass reflex are arranged vertically and vertically symmetrically. This reduces the interference of the vertical standing wave generated inside the enclosure and improves the resolution of the low sound range.
Two 14 cm cone type woofers with a polymer film laminate diaphragm are used for the low range, and each of them is driven in parallel.
In addition, each woofer is equipped with a midship mount, so that vibration of the woofer is not directly transmitted to the baffle plate, and it is fixed to the inner baffle installed in the enclosure.
In addition, it has a low magnetic leakage design, and the effect on the CRT is suppressed.
A 2.5 cm dome type tweeter using ceramic carbon with carbon purity of 99.9% is adopted for the high range.
The network is electrically symmetrical with low-pass filters inserted into each woofer.
This makes the motion of the two woofers as equal as possible and reduces the influence between the woofers.
The baffle plate is 18 mm thick. The round baffle suppresses the diffraction phenomenon of sound. In addition, the surface is covered with a felt sheet to suppress the reflection of sound in the high frequency range.
The speaker stand sold separately can be adjusted acoustically by putting the attached sand bag and sound absorbing material inside.
