Commentary

This speaker system was developed based on the concept of "EXTENDED RANGE" in addition to "sound image realism" to respond to the digital age.

A 26 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
This unit uses an Electronic Bass Drive (EBD) system, which uses two voice coils to electrically expand the low frequency range. In addition to the main voice coil, this system sends a music signal below a certain frequency from the network to the second low range voice coil for double driving. This realizes a rich low frequency range that is approximately twice the volume of the enclosure.
In addition, carbon graphite with excellent physical properties is used for the diaphragm, and high fidelity from minute input to large input is obtained by the technology which makes use of various characteristics.

The mid-range is equipped with a 8.5 cm cone type mid-range.
This unit uses carbon graphite cone for the diaphragm and boron alloy for the center dome to realize sound with excellent transient characteristics and power linearity.

A ribbon-type tweeter with a direct drive structure unique to Pioneer is installed in the high-frequency range.
The diaphragm is made of beryllium, which is light and highly rigid. This is based on the processing technology developed by Pioneer. The thin fasciation of beryllium, which has been considered difficult to process, is made more rigid by adding rib reinforcement, and uniform power linearity is achieved.

DRS (Dynamic Response Suspension) is adopted for the vibration support system.
From the material itself to the structure, it has been examined with the adoption of urethane roll edge with large internal loss and special fiber damper with high air permeability.

The network section is designed for low loss and high input resistance.
In addition, the choke coil is arranged in a completely orthogonal arrangement to minimize crosstalk.

The enclosure uses a symmetrical design to improve sound image localization.
