Commentary

An all-horn type speaker system that employs a front-loaded horn for low frequencies and a multi-cellular horn for mid - and high-frequency sounds.

For the woofer, a 30 cm unit with carbon fiber cone is used.
This unit has been subjected to many experiments for use as a driver for a short horn, and has adopted a flat deep shape with corrugation.
In addition, the shape, material and treatment agent are used for the edge with sufficient consideration for linearity and aging.
Ferrite magnet is used for the magnetic circuit.

For the middle and high range, we have adopted the same PH-101 horn unit and PD-100 driver unit that were commercially available.
The horn unit is a multi-cellular horn made of die-cast aluminum with a cut-off frequency of 350 Hz divided into 10 parts. It is thick enough to suppress the horn noise.
Aluminum light alloy foils are used for the driver diaphragm.
The edge is coated with a stable special damping agent to greatly reduce resonance of the edge.
The back chamber is filled with glass wool, and a slit made of damping paper is provided in the middle of the chamber to control the air. This reduces distortion near the rise and fo, resulting in flat frequency characteristics and improved sound quality.
The aluminum-wound voice coil reduces the moving mass of the vibration system and improves the transient characteristics.

The choke coil uses high permeability ferrite core and 1.2 mm φ wire diameter winding.
It employs a Mylar film capacitor with low constant loss and a bipolar capacitor with high voltage resistance, and a printed circuit board with a pattern with large current capacity and spare parts layout, providing highly stable transmission characteristics.

The low-frequency range uses a front-loaded horn to improve the transient characteristics. The combination of a special phase-reversal cabinet and a multi-hole with acoustic resistance on the back of the cabinet enables the reproduction of medium and low frequencies with good sound quality.
The material is a combination of lauan plywood and hard particle board, and the surface is an oil finish with a plug single plate attached.
Selection and arrangement of sound absorbing materials are carefully considered for internal acoustic processing to prevent standing waves and improve medium and low frequencies.
