Commentary
A tape deck with a separate design that completely separates the head, tape transport and control amplifier.
The RT-2044 is a 4-track 4-channel configuration consisting of a tape transport unit RTU-11/QT and two amplifier units TAU-11. By adding a 2-track 2-channel head unit (sold separately), it becomes an almighty tape deck.
The RT-2022 consists of two tracks and two channels. It consists of a tape transport unit RTU-11/2T and an amplifier unit TAU-11. It can be expanded to four tracks and four channels.
With a tape speed of 38cm/s, it has wide frequency characteristics and dynamic range and high SN ratio.
In addition to the FIX bias (appropriate bias value of Scotch 206), a continuously variable method is adopted in which an appropriate recording bias suitable for the characteristics of various tapes can be selected.
The LH/STD equalizer can be selected based on the NAB or IEC method.
Built-in 1 kHz and 10 kHz test oscillators that can be set to an appropriate recording state.
You can set the proper bias value for the tape to be used with the 1 kHz test signal. With the 10 kHz test signal, you can check the frequency characteristics, select the STD/LH position of the equalizer, adjust the azimuth, and adjust the level.
The recording and reproducing heads use a contourless hyperbolic Permalloy head with excellent gap uniformity and parallelism and good head touch. Together with a tape speed of 38cm/s, the recording and reproducing heads have improved phase characteristics, frequency characteristics, signal-to-noise ratio, channel separation, etc.
Moreover, the head unit is a plug-in type that can be attached and removed with 2 screws. By adding a unit or amplifier unit sold separately, it can be developed into a 4-track-2-channel or 4-track-4-channel system.
Reel 10 can be used.
A high-torque 2-speed hysteresis synchronous motor is used for the capstan drive to ensure excellent performance, and a 6-pole inner rotor special induction motor is used for the reel drive.
Equipped with a synchro monitor mechanism, you can enjoy sound-on-sound recording and SWS recording.
Uses direct change type feather touch operation button with built-in tape protection system.
A scrape filter has been adopted to eliminate modulation noise caused by longitudinal vibration of the tape and achieve high frequency characteristics with good SN ratio and little distortion.
Line and Mic are equipped with independent recording amplifiers.
In particular, microphone amplifiers are designed with a wide dynamic range and excellent signal-to-noise ratio.
It incorporates four channels of regenerative circuits with a wide dynamic range from 0 VU to more than 20 dB.
You can also enjoy two track 38 master tapes by connecting the tape transport unit directly to the preamp.
Equipped with a wide range meter of -40 to + 6 dB.
Equipped with a microphone attenuator, on-microphone recording is also possible with the microphone close to the sound source.
It is designed to be portable with pockets for storing connection cables, handles, and front covers.
