Commentary
A record player equipped with newly developed high-sensitivity arm and auto mechanism.
The drive section adopts a belt drive system using a 4-pole synchronous motor, and features are improved by adopting a turntable, spindle and bearing section with high-precision finish based on Pioneer's precision machining technology.
An angular contact bearing is used for the horizontal and vertical rotating parts of the tone arm to improve sensitivity and durability. In addition, there is no degradation of mid-range characteristics caused by looseness of the bearing.
The head shell uses newly developed aluminum light alloy head shell with small moment of inertia and no loss of low-frequency characteristics.
Equipped with auto return and auto stop.
In addition, the speed detection type is adopted for the detection of Oatley turn, and accurate operation is possible even for non-standard records.
The cartridge is equipped with MM type cartridge PC-110.
We have adopted a special structure cabinet made of a combination of hard plywood for the cabinet, and a large insulator made of a combination of large rubber of special shape and aluminum light alloy for the insulator.
Equipped with a stylus position gauge (overhang indicator) that can accurately determine the position of the overhang when replacing the cartridge.
Equipped with anti-skating mechanism, lateral balancer, and arm elevation mechanism.
There were 2 types, PL-A38 with plug finish and PL-A38S with pearl gray finish.
