Commentary
A stereo record player based on the PL-6 and equipped with an original auto mechanism.
A 4-pole synchronous motor is used.
Since it is synchronous type, accurate constant speed rotation is realized without being affected by changes in voltage and load.
The turntable uses an aluminum alloy die-cast turntable with a diameter of 25 cm and weight of 1 kg that has undergone precision machining.
Equipped with an auto mechanism that works in conjunction with the lifting and lowering of the tone arm, on/off of the motor power supply, and release and landing operation of the idler with one lever operation.
Equipped with an oil dump arm elevation mechanism, the tone arm is raised and lowered by suspension action of spring and oil cylinder.
The motor power switch operates in conjunction with the arm elevation mechanism. It is turned on only when the tone arm is lowered and in the performance state, and turned off when the arm is raised. It also operates in conjunction with the idler take-off / landing operation.
By means of an idler auto controller, it can be bonded to the motor shaft (capstan) and the inner circumference of the turntable only when the tone arm is lowered and the motor is rotating.
If you set the elevation lever to the Play position, you can turn the motor on/off with the speed switch knob just like ordinary players.
The tone arm employs a non-resonant pipe-type tone arm with a unique twist in the processing of the pivot. The model is a static balanced type suitable for stereo playback.
In addition, a connector type head is adopted, and other cartridges can be used.
The MM type cartridge PL-C6 is used.
A 0.6 mm φ duralumin pipe cantilever with a 0.7 mil diamond needle is used to create a full-scale structure. The needle tip is attached to a plastic holder, making it easy and attractive.
