PD-HS7
Commentary

A turntable type CD player newly introduced the Z concept.

The Z concept has been newly introduced as a design concept.
The Z-concept pursues accurate music signal transmission in order to realize more 3-D stereo sound field reproduction. Specifically, by eliminating unnecessary vibration that affects disc rotation accuracy and signal reading accuracy, reducing unnecessary noise that adversely affects weak music signals, and eliminating jitter that occurs in the signal transmission process, the Z-concept achieves higher levels of the effects of Legato link conversion and Hi-bit.

The mechanism section is equipped with Pioneer's original turntable mechanism.
In this system, the moment of inertia is improved by about 3 times by supporting the entire disk from the bottom, and stable disk drive is realized.
The PD-HS7 uses an SD (Stable Detection) version with improved signal reading accuracy. In addition to the floating structure of the mechanism, an acoustic damper tray is used on the front surface to completely eliminate unnecessary vibrations caused by sound pressures.

A clean laser pickup is used for the pickup part.
This pickup reduces power loss by eliminating optical components such as the collimator lens, and realizes low distortion signal reading.

Pioneer's Hi-bit technology is used for the digital circuit.
This technology focuses on very low-level signals less than the number of quantization bits. In order to estimate the waveform of the original sound from the data recorded on CD, 16-bit data in CD format is re-quantized into 24-bit data. The dynamic range is expanded to 120 dB, the maximum amount that the human ear can completely recover, and quantization distortion is reduced to reproduce a smooth waveform closer to the original sound.

It is equipped with Legato link conversion S.
Legato Link Conversion reproduces music signals above the audible band of 20 kHz, which are cut in the CD format, by estimating them from signals within the audible band and 1/f characteristics.
Legato Link Conversion S is an extension of this system. A newly developed harmonic generation circuit generates a harmonic component of 20 kHz or higher based on recorded music signal data, and adds it to the music signal data again in time base to reproduce signals up to 50 kHz, exceeding the limit of the CD format.
The D/A converter is equipped with a wide range DAC.
This DAC uses a multi-bit method that is less susceptible to jitter than a 1-bit DAC. This DAC converts 24-bit data reproduced by Hi-bit Legato link conversion S into analog.

The power supply section is equipped with twin power transformers for digital & servo and analog circuits independently to prevent noise caused by mutual interference of circuits.
In addition, the 5-part, 8-regulation power supply circuit eliminates further mutual interference.

It is equipped with various search functions and program functions.

The chassis uses a 3-layer structure base chassis to shut out vibration from the floor.

It has a digital input and a DAC mode that can be used as a D/A converter.
The sampling frequency is 32 kHz, 44.1 kHz and 48 kHz.

Wireless remote control is included.
