Commentary
FM/AM tuner developed and equipped with Onkyo's original dynamic FM feedback technology.
Equipped with a dynamic FM feedback system.
First, the basic performance was improved by increasing the density of the station generator, IF circuit, and detector, and then FM feedback technology was introduced in addition to the stabilization measures of the station generator to block the effect of acoustic feedback (air vibration) from the speaker.
In the front end part, the RF booster is switched to two stages, and it can be turned ON/OFF according to the application.
The OFF switch uses a direct mixer method in which two dual-gate MOS FETs are directly connected to the balanced mixer after the input triple tune configuration. The station generator uses two low-noise twin varicaps, and the balanced mixer is driven by a tuned buffer. This configuration realizes a high degree of disturbance rejection capability.
In the ON position, an RF booster amplifier using MOS FETx2 in parallel configuration is inserted after the input single tuning.
The IF section can be selected from Wide (low distortion) and Narrow (high selectivity) depending on the reception area and conditions.
Normally, the wide position is used for low-distortion reception, and the narrow position is used when noise etc. is audible under special conditions.
NEC has developed and installed a PLL decoder to enhance the low distortion effect of dynamic FM feedback.
A PLL IC is installed in the stereo demodulation section.
It is also equipped with a pilot canceler, air check calibrator, automatic noise reduction, FM8 station / AM8 station preset memories, etc.
Equipped with the super turbo system adopted in the Integra RS series.
The AM section uses a 4-element ladder filter.
