Commentary
This 3-way speaker system uses a ring radiator.
A 31 cm woofer unit is used for the low range.
The cone paper uses a unique cone paper that is coated with plaster material on the cone base material finished by multi-corrugation molding. This ensures rigidity and reduces split vibration of the cone by increasing vibration loss.
The magnetic circuit uses a magnet of 160 φ x85 φ x17mm and a long voice coil to increase the input power.
In addition, two layer urethane foam edge, polyimide laminate board, butterfly damper, etc. are adopted to reduce amplitude distortion simultaneously.
A ring radiator unit is used for the middle and high ranges respectively.
A ring radiator with a V-shaped cross section is driven by a large-diameter voice coil (50 φ mm in the case of Skoker).
With the introduction of the ring radiator, it is possible to use a voice coil with a larger diameter than that of the cone type. Therefore, even when the mass of the vibration system is about the same, the input resistance is improved by about twice.
In addition, it is supported at three points by an edge outer periphery, an edge inner periphery, and a damper. Moreover, since the span (distance from the driving point to the support point) is small, a stable vibration mode can be obtained over the entire used band.
In the network, a linear cross-type network using a simple 6dB/oct. element is used for the upper and lower filter of the squaker.
