Commentary
Equipped with a 6 ch discrete amplifier, this AV amplifier supports 6.1 ch surround sound formats such as Dolby Digital EX and DTS-ES.
In addition to Dolby Digital, it is equipped with Dolby Pro Logic II, Dolby Digital EX, DTS-ES, and MPEG-2 AAC decoder.
The amplifier circuit is equipped with a discrete 6-ch power amplifier and a simple design layout that stabilizes the ground potential of the amplifier circuit and reduces harmful noise.
The digital signal processor uses a 96 kHz / 24-bit D/A converter and a 24-bit DSP chip made by Cirrus Logic.
Onkyo's proprietary compound wide-range amplifier technology, WRAT, has been adopted in order to enhance the performance of the amplifier in actual operation and to improve the S/N of the sense of hearing.
Equipped with a non-scaling configuration to prevent degradation of dynamic range and S/N ratio during downmix.
Equipped with a linear optimal gain volume circuit that improves S/N with optimal attenuation control.
Pure Audio Audio mode enhances the quality of 2 ch playback. This feature allows you to power off the video circuit without going through the sound adjustment circuit and then turn off the display to minimize noise sources.
To compensate for the difference from a movie theater where speakers are installed behind the screen, Onkyo's unique cinema filter function reduces the high-frequency component and realizes natural playback.
It is equipped with a crossover frequency switching function (80Hz/100Hz/120Hz) that can adjust the low frequency band emitted from the subwoofer depending on the speaker size.
It is equipped with double bus circuit which realizes powerful low sound reproduction even for sound source without LFE signal.
It is equipped with an on-screen display function that can be set while watching the monitor.
It uses an audio / video separation board that prevents noise contamination.
All channels except SP-B have a banana plug-compatible screw-type speaker terminal.
Equipped with digital / analog automatic input switching function.
It is equipped with a late night mode that allows you to hear clearly even in low volume playback such as at night, and suppresses large sound effects.
This function can be used when playing Dolby Digital.
Onkyo's unique surround modes include Orchestra, Unplugged, Studio-Mix, TV Logic and All Ch Stereo.
A learning remote controller with pre-set operation codes for AV equipment of major manufacturers is included.
This remote control also has a macro function that combines continuous operations into one button.
Equipped with an RI audio control terminal that enables operation in conjunction with AV equipment with the RI mark.
