PWM pre-main amplifier using VL Digital.

The PWM digital amplifier realizes 90% higher power efficiency than an analog amplifier with a maximum efficiency of approximately 70%. As a result, it consumes less power and generates less heat, making it possible to size.
Taking advantage of this advantage, the A-1VL uses a thin design, while improving the reproducibility of power and speed, which are the sound quality characteristics of digital amplifiers.

PWM (pulse width modulation) method is adopted for A/D modulation which converts analog signals into digital signals.
The A-1VL uses a VL digital circuit developed by Onkyo for audio applications.
The VL digital is an integral-type modulation circuit with two circuits consisting of a vector generator, an integrator, and an inversion trigger generator. Therefore, even if spike noise, which is the cause of conversion error, enters from outside, the spike noise itself has a symmetrical waveform. As a result, the energy of the upper and lower waveforms cancel each other, making error-free A/D conversion possible.

When the signal changes from 0 to 1 (or from 1 to 0), a large current flows through the power line of the digital amplifier. If the impedance of this part is high, the characteristics and operation stability are affected.
To cope with this problem, copper bus plates with a thickness of 1.5 mm and a width of 5 mm are used for the power lines. The ultra-low impedance reduces power transmission loss to less than 1 / 40.

The internal wiring from the output circuit of the amplifier to the speaker terminal is 1.5 mm thick, 12 mm wide and 18 mm cross-sectional area.2It uses extremely thick copper bus plates and is connected at the shortest distance, providing excellent power transmission comparable to that of extremely thick cables.

Uses a brass scraping insulator.

Machined gold plated pin jacks are used for the terminals.
A large speaker terminal is used for the output terminal.

It has a main in jack so that it can also be used as a power amplifier.

Wireless remote control is included.
