A medium-sized monitor speaker system developed jointly with NHK in 1961 (1961).

As a sound quality monitoring speaker for the NHK designated name R205, it was used in a wide range of applications such as monitoring speakers for medium and small studios, auditions, and talkback.

A 20 cm cone woofer PW 201 is installed in the low range, and a 5 cm cone tweeter TW 501 is installed in the high range.
The vibration system of the PW 201 is a mechanical filter that attenuates high frequencies at a crossover frequency of 2 frequency of 2 kHz or more. By attenuating the high-frequency range without using a network, sound quality is improved.

In the 2S-208, the unit is mounted on a single metal chassis, which reduces interference distortion and eliminates the cavity effect caused by the thickness of the baffle plate.
In addition, by designing for use in a bass reflex enclosure, the overall characteristics including cabinet are excellent.

Similar to 2S-305, the front exterior angle of the enclosure has a round shape, reducing the influence of acoustic diffraction on the mid - and high-frequency range and increasing the mechanical strength.
Exterior is finished with birch plywood.

Measurement data in an anechoic room was attached to each unit.

There was also one with 600 Ω matching transformer.
