DIATONE D-80S

Commentary

A large woofer system developed for PA and SR systems.

D-80E and D-80S are used for different purposes and have different characteristics.

80 cm cone type large diameter woofer unit is used for the unit.
This unit was developed by making full use of the honeycomb technology cultivated in space technology, and the amplitude at the time of heavy low-sound high-output reproduction is very small, enabling reproduction with less distortion.
Honeycomb construction cone is used for the diaphragm. In this cone, coarse fiber with high specific elastic modulus and moderate internal loss is used for the skin material, and coarse honeycomb diaphragm is used. In addition, high resolution, heavy and low sound reproduction with excellent transient characteristics is possible by driving with high heat-resistant voice coil and strong magnetic circuit.

Although it has a large diameter, it uses a honeycomb diaphragm composed mostly of an air layer to achieve weight reduction and high efficiency design.
Combined with a powerful magnetic circuit and a highly heat-resistant voice coil, the system achieves a maximum output level of 133dB/m, which is the highest level of playback performance in the low-frequency range of direct-emission speakers.

The enclosure uses a bass reflex system.
