Commentary

This is a speaker system that fully incorporates the technical ideas cultivated in the 2S 3003 and pursues high musicality as pure audio and high-fidelity monitor-oriented playback.

A 27 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
The diaphragm woven aramid honeycomb cone is used for the diaphragm. Aramid fiber satisfies high strength, excellent vibration damping characteristics, and light weight as diaphragm material in high dimension. This material is used as skin material of 3-axis woven aramid which demonstrates strength in all directions, and honeycomb structure of vibration damping aluminum alloy core is used.
In addition, the magnetic circuit is equipped with ADMC-m (Advanced Magnet Circuit-music), which is an extension of Diatone's original ADMC theory, and reproduces music signals more accurately by analyzing actual sound waveforms.

A 5 cm cone type tweeter is installed in the high range.
Pure Boron B for the diaphragm4C cone is used. Pure Boron boasts a high specific elastic modulus (E / ρ) second only to crystal diamond, and also has an ideal feature of moderate internal loss due to non-metal. This is used as a diaphragm with strong bonding and few holes by using the plasma spray method originally developed by Diatone.
In addition, a strong magnetic circuit of 20,000 gauss is adopted for the magnetic circuit, and an excellent start-up is realized.

The network section uses a Through-the-Network connection for the woofer circuit. The input terminal is directly connected to the woofer by taking advantage of the high roll-off characteristic of the woofer. This realizes a high-quality sound field and sound image localization.

The enclosure has a shoulder round structure.
The shape of the DS-A1 is based on the rich sound of a stringed instrument. In the DS-A1, large members of high-density Canadian Maple Solid are used to round the both shoulders. This structure increases strength by reducing the area of the top plate and disperses vibration modes by dividing the joint.
The bass reflex port uses laminated high-density particleboards, which are hollowed out to an optimum shape to ensure high rigidity and suppress unnecessary resonance.

The rear terminal is set directly on the cabinet base to avoid complication of vibration mode due to unnecessary processing.
In addition, terminals compatible with banana plugs are used.
