Commentary
This speaker system is the second of the 50th anniversary model of Diatone Kobo.
A 13 cm cone type woofer is installed in the low range.
We have adopted an aramid cloth diaphragm for the diaphragm. This diaphragm uses an aromatic polyamide organic fiber aramid with high strength and moderate internal loss as a cone material. The two layer structure eliminates the binder such as epoxy resin, which was conventionally included in the diaphragm, and realizes weight reduction.
A 4 cm cone type tweeter is installed in the high range.
Newly developed Aramid Cross Cone is used for the diaphragm, and by using the same material as Woofer, the sound speed is made uniform and 2 way design of equal sound speed is adopted.
For the network part, crimp wiring with a oxygen-free copper sleeve and low-strain coil of laminated orient core are adopted as a strain countermeasure.
The new structure of the Maple Top Enclosure has been adopted.
This method is based on the method of making a string instrument that positively utilizes the sound of wood. The structure is covered with baffle plates and back plates at the front and rear of the body plate, and the sound of both plates is utilized by the potato joint method which is the simplest joint method.
In addition, in order to improve the texture of the high sound range in which many harmonic components which determine the tone of the instrument are distributed, the top plate uses Canadian Maple material with high density and beautiful sound. By giving thickness to the center of the top plate, rigidity is increased and sound is controlled.
In addition, birch material is used for the back plate to make the sound more responsive as the whole cabinet. In addition, the baffle and side plate are made of satin cicmore material to contribute to the sound rise such as the touch of the string.
The input terminal uses a large gold-plated terminal that is compatible with banana plugs.
There was a specially designed speaker stand sold separately.
