Commentary

A speaker system developed with the theme of singing live performance in a leisurely and high-quality manner.

In the low range, it is equipped with 38 cm cone type woofer following the technology of 2S-305.
The diaphragm is a newly developed pulp cone. It is designed to take advantage of the advantages of pulp cone such as light weight, good sound separation, large internal loss, and low natural sound. It is combined with a magnetic circuit with a gap magnetic flux density of 14,000 Gauss to enable large-scale low-frequency reproduction.

The mid-range is equipped with 16 cm cone type mid-range.
A lightweight aramid cross cone is used for the diaphragm. In this diaphragm, resin such as epoxy resin, which has been an obstacle to weight reduction, has been eliminated, and a new multi-layer structure has been adopted to achieve weight reduction. Moreover, the high internal loss of the aramid can be utilized, and natural sound is reduced.

A 5 cm cone type tweeter is installed in the high range.
B for this unit4Uses C (Pure Boron) cone. Pure Boron is a material with excellent material properties that has high specific elasticity next to crystal diamond and also has moderate internal loss. It has a cone type structure that can set the lowest resonance frequency low, making the connection with the mid-range smooth.
In addition, a strong magnetic circuit with a gap magnetic flux density of more than 19,500 Gauss is used for the magnetic circuit, which realizes high resolution and beautiful granular sound.

The network circuit is installed externally to eliminate the influence of vibration and magnetism.

The enclosure uses a bass reflex system.
The DS 8000 uses a twin port system with a 100-mm-diameter bass reflex port. By changing the length of each port, the port tube resonance and noise from the back of the woofer are reduced and an excellent S/N ratio is secured. The resonance frequency of the port is set as low as 38 Hz, which realizes low sound reproduction with a sense of power.
The exterior has a real wood veneer finish with oak for the baffle and walnut for the side plate. Solid walnut is also used for the grill frame.

There was an optional network box with variable crossover frequency as an option sold separately.
This network offers a total of 27 sound qualities, with three different frequencies, one for low tweeter, one for low mid-range and one for high mid-range. The network box features a veneer finish and a solid wood knob for the knob.
