Commentary

Based on the best-selling DS-77HR, this is a speaker system with enhanced perfection by applying super tune.

Woofer
A 31 cm cone type woofer using an aramid hybrid honeycomb diaphragm is mounted in the low range.

The Aramid Hybrid Honeycomb Diaphragm uses Aramid Hybrid FRP for the front skin and cellulose fiber skin for the back skin.
The Aramid Hybrid FRP for the front skin has a hybrid weaving structure in which Aramid fiber, which is an aromatic polyamide fiber material with low density and moderate internal loss in addition to high strength and high elasticity, and amorphous silica, which has high rigidity, are woven into an intra-ply structure. This structure realizes a skin material with high specific elastic modulus and optimum loss factor. The cellulose fiber skin for the back skin is made from cellulose fiber with excellent internal loss.
By making these two skins into a honeycomb structure with excellent physical properties as a diaphragm structure, we have achieved high-dimensional fusion of high rigidity and moderate internal loss.

A highly rigid R. S. frame is used for the frame part to bring out the maximum capacity of the diaphragm.

midrange
The mid-range is equipped with a 10 cm cone type squaker.

The cone part of the diaphragm employs an intra-ply hybrid diaphragm combining organic fiber aramid and inorganic fiber PAN-based high-strength carbon fiber.
PAN-based high-strength carbon fiber uses polyacrylonitrile as a raw material and has an extremely high specific elastic modulus. By weaving this into an organic fiber aramid and an intra-ply structure and hybrid weaving, the high specific elastic modulus and loss factor are balanced in a high dimension while having the respective characteristics.

The center diaphragm of the diaphragm uses S. R. Titanium Dome, which balances high specific elastic modulus and loss factor by applying surface hardening treatment to titanium.

The R. S. frame is adopted in the frame part like the woofer, and resonance is suppressed by strongly supporting the magnetic circuit.

Tweeter
A 2.5 cm dome type tweeter using a Boron D. U. D. dome diaphragm is mounted in the high range.

Boron is used for diaphragm material.
In addition, DS-77HRX strongly promotes the diffusion growth of boron, which has high physical properties, and has excellent characteristics such as high specific elastic modulus, high durability and weather resistance, and suppression of natural noise.
In addition, the D. U. D structure that integrates the diaphragm and voice coil bobbin transfers the driving force generated in the voice coil to the diaphragm without loss, realizing excellent characteristics such as improved transient response, higher upper limit frequency, improved linearity and input resistance.

The unit structure adopts a hybrid structure D. M. (direct mount) system.
In the D. M. method, the unit structure is mounted directly on the baffle as part of the magnetic circuit, and low carbon mild steel is used to satisfy the required magnetic characteristics.
Furthermore, in order to attenuate the resonance of the material, the entire plate is mounted with aluminum alloy casting, and by adopting a hybrid structure composed of dissimilar metals, in addition to high rigidity, an appropriate damping property is obtained.

Network
A crimping wiring system is used for the network connection, and excellent listening characteristics are obtained.
In addition, the power supply system is an independent power supply system to eliminate interference between each unit and network. By providing a well-balanced power supply, the sound field reproduction capability is improved. In addition, the two division structure with separate woofer elements prevents sound from becoming muddy due to magnetic flux leakage.

Laminated oriented cores are used for the coils, oxygen-free copper wires for the wires, and capacitors and resistors are carefully selected after measurement and listening.

Enclosure
The front baffle is a large elliptical 4-side round baffle with four sides rounded to prevent sound quality degradation due to diffraction effects.

The enclosure structure adopts a highly rigid distributed resonance structure utilizing Diatone's unique analysis technology to improve resolution.

Other
There was a speaker stand DK-77X developed for the DS-77HRX separately sold.
The DK-77X uses the same high-density particleboards as the DS-77HRX, and controls standing waves by reducing parallel planes from the form as much as possible.
In addition, in order to improve the stability of the legs, we have adopted our own adjuster.

There were two variations of the enclosure : a walnut finish and a black wood finish.
Also, the separately sold DK-77X had the same color variation.
