Commentary

The History Series speaker system uses a staggered multi-drive system.

The DS 700 uses LCP (Liquid Crystal Polymer) as the diaphragm material.
This liquid crystal polymer has a self-reinforcing effect and has a specific elasticity comparable to that of titanium. In addition, since it is a polymer material, it also has a large internal loss close to ideal. This material is made into an ultra-thin diaphragm using an injection molding method to increase rigidity and specific elastic modulus. In the DS 700, LCP is used in all units, and the diaphragm with the same physical properties is made into a 2-way constant sound speed for all bands.
It is also designed to prevent magnetic flux leakage by installing a repulse magnet in the magnetic circuit.

Two 16 cm cone type woofers are installed in the lower range.
In addition to the usual two way system, the DS 700 uses a staggered multi-drive system with a low-band booster woofer, enabling rich low-band playback. In this system, the woofer is divided into two types, one for mid-low band and the other for low-band, and each has its own network circuit for smooth connection with the tweeter.
The two woofer units are designed according to each band, and a net cap is used for the middle and low band woofer to eliminate the natural sound.

A 2.5 cm dome-shaped tweeter is installed in the high range.
The tweeter unit uses LCP diaphragm with Diatone's unique DUD structure, and realizes high-speed playback by integrating with voice coil.
The magnetic circuit uses a DM structure to increase rigidity and eliminate unnecessary vibration, and the frame area is reduced to minimize unnecessary radiation.

A high-performance coil consisting of a laminated oriented core and oxygen-free copper wires is used for the coil of the network section. Crimp wiring is used for connection, and carefully selected materials are used for each element and input terminal.
In addition, interference between the networks of each unit is eliminated by adopting an independent feed system, and intermodulation is eliminated by adopting a 3-division network board.

All 6 sides of the enclosure have a genuine mahogany veneer finish.
The internal structure is of a distributed resonance type, and the baffle structure is of an enveloping and retaining frame to eliminate the effect of vibration.

There was a speaker stand with the same mahogany veneer finish as the enclosure sold separately.
