Marantz ST-50

Commentary

FM/AM tuner of Marantz slim type component component 50 series.

Marantz's original gyro-touch tuning is adopted, and tuning is performed by directly rotating the flywheel with large inertial mass.
By using oilless metal for the bearing, smooth rotation is achieved.

In order to obtain stable reception performance, a servo lock mechanism is installed in the station output circuit.
In addition, the system is equipped with an electronic touch switch that unlocks the servo lock while the dial is in contact and locks when the dial is released after adjusting to the best tuning point.
In addition, a switch for releasing the servo lock is mounted independently so that it can be used for listening stations adjacent to strong frequencies.

The front-end section contains a dual-gate MOS FET, the IF section contains a linear-phase IF filter, and the MPX section contains a PLL canceler circuit to achieve sharp reception sensitivity, low distortion rate and high S / N ratio.

The ST-50 is equipped with a unique parametric muting circuit that operates by two signals, an RF signal and a DC offset voltage of a quadrature detector. The ST-50 can also be tuned quietly in weak radio waves.
