Model920
Commentary

The Model 920 is a 3-way system that inherits the principle of the floor-type system that Marantz newly established with the Model 940. It is a mid-sized model designed by Edmond A. May, who designed the speaker at Western Electric Company.

It comes with a unique bridge that is designed to be installed on the floor and to take into consideration the effect of regeneration. It also has a luxurious hand polished oil finish.

The unit used is a 3-way system with the same type of units common to the Model9xx series. The Woofer is a 12 inch holey cone with excellent transients, combined with a 5 inch squawker, 1.5 inch LPF dome tweeter to cross at 750 hz and 2500 hz.

The front baffle of the system has ports cut and sealed, usually with urethane foam filler. This allows you to fine-tune the low-frequency playback depending on the state of the listening room.
