SM-5
Commentary

A stereo power amplifier designed to work with SC-5 and exclusive battery unit bb-5.

A low-impedance drive design is implemented so that sufficient current can be supplied even if the impedance of the speaker decreases.
As a result, even when combined with a low-impedance speaker, which may cause the pre-main amplifier to swing, it is always able to handle with a margin, resulting in a powerful drive capability.

The input buffer amplifier and the first stage of the power amplifier are capable of DC clean drive and can be combined with the battery power supply bb-5.

A total of 6 NEW HDAM of 4-layer board structure are used.
This is a further evolution of HDAM, a high-speed voltage amplification module based on Marantz's original technology. It achieves both high-speed and stable circuits and achieves high S/N.

The output stage uses a high-frequency large power transistor in parallel push-pull mode.

The power supply section uses a large toroidal power transformer and low-power foil Chemicon.

The attenuator can be set in 1 dB steps.

The chassis construction employs a copper-plated zinc die-cast chassis and aluminum thick panels to ensure high vibration damping.
