PM-84D
Commentary

Based on the PM-84, this pre-main amplifier was developed in pursuit of higher quality reproduction sound in order to realize 100% of CD capability.

The PM-84D has a MOS FET at the output stage.
The MOS FET has excellent switching characteristics, distortion characteristics, and thermal characteristics, making it ideal for use as a power amplifier. The MOS FET uses a parallel push-pull configuration and eight MOS FETs for both channels.

MOS FET parallel push-pull configuration output stage is controlled by Quarter A and AVSS.
Quarter A operates at 1/4 (quarter) of the maximum output, and operates at pure A class up to 25Wx2. Beyond that, it automatically moves to AB class to obtain high power, making it possible to reproduce a wide power range with excellent linearity.
In addition, the AVSS drives the power element in an ideal state by shifting the output supply voltage in conjunction with switching between pure class A and class AB.

Equipped with CD/Phono direct switch.
The CD Direct is directly connected to the flat amplifier just by passing through the volume, and the Phono Direct is played through the shortest path of the phono amplifier, volume, flat amplifier, and power amplifier.
By passing through the minimum necessary stages for both digital and analog, more pure amplification is possible.

The Phono input is equipped with a MM/MC (High) / MC (Low) selector switch, and is compatible with various cartridges.

The power supply section is equipped with a high-regulation 3-shield large transformer filled with resin to increase heat radiation efficiency and eliminate magnetic flux leakage, and newly developed custom large-capacity capacitors, mainly 76,000 μ F electrolytic capacitors.

In order to improve the final sound quality, tuning is repeatedly conducted through thorough hearing tests. Non-magnetic materials are actively used for parts that may be affected by eddy currents such as chassis and screws, and copper-plated chassis and copper-plated screws are used.
In addition, more than 100 parts are examined through hearing to improve sound quality.
