PM-15
Commentary

Pre-main amplifier developed as the highest peak of the PM series.

Since the PM-80, two types of output systems, Class A and Class AB, have been integrated into Class AB, and a newly developed power block called Super AB class is adopted.
A high-frequency bipolar transistor (Pc = 200 pc = W) in parallel push-pull mode to ensure high current drive capability.

The pre-part and power part are completely independent of each other in the layout to eliminate electrical interference.
In addition, a balanced method is adopted for the connection between the two devices to minimize the adverse effect of external noise on the music signal.

The 4-row active volume used in the volume section employs a low-impedance, rotating resistor volume that is particularly excellent as a volume component.

The phono equalizer uses a full-scale low-noise amplifier configuration such as a head amplifier of a push-pull differential circuit.

The circuit board is a double-sided foil printed circuit board with a thickness of 70 μ m. This improves shield performance and ensures drive capability for low-impedance speakers.

Uses HDAM, a unit unique to Marantz.
This uses a copper case and a multi-layer substrate shield structure to suppress the effects of heat, vibration, and electromagnetic waves and provide stable performance.
As a result, in addition to the low-noise high-through rate, space efficiency and high stability, which are the advantages of ICs, are realized.

As a countermeasure against high-frequency noise, an extra-large copper plated toroidal power transformer is plated with copper and a low-foil electrolytic capacitor is used to ensure a stable power supply.
In addition, noise killer elements are installed in the power, pre, and control sections to suppress rectification noise and realize sound without turbidity.

The chassis is based on a copper-plated zinc die-cast chassis and consists of a 3-mm-thick steel plate top panel, extruded aluminum front panel and legs carved out of pure copper blocks to eliminate vibration completely.

All input / output terminals are gold-plated, and the same large crimping type speaker terminal as the one used in the PM-99SE is used.
