Commentary
Marantz's first AM/FM stereo receiver.
The Model22J incorporates the Model23J AM/FM stereo tuner.
A two meter configuration with a signal strength meter and a center tuning / multipath meter enables more accurate channel selection.
The multipath meter indicates multipath distortion caused by improper antenna orientation.
Marantz's unique gyro-touch tuning is adopted, and smooth tuning is possible by directly rotating the flywheel.
It is equipped with a V. O. D circuit (variable overlap drive) as a protection circuit to protect against transistor and speaker damage in case of accident. This circuit uses special current control and double transistor safety circuit to ensure stable performance under all load conditions.
Front panel tape recorder dubbing jacks allow for easy front-side addition of a second deck.
The tuner section is equipped with an inter-station muting circuit to suppress noise when selecting FM channels.
Two FETs and four ICs are used in the tuner section, two FETs are used in the phono preamplifier section, and two ICs are used in the power amplifier section to achieve stability and long life.
Equipped with two phono inputs.
It is equipped with functions such as a main / sub speaker selector switch, a tape monitor switch and a low / high cut filter.
The wood case was sold separately as an option.
