Commentary
The LX77 has been made even more compact in size and is a speaker system that pursues sound quality.
A 25 cm diameter high-compliance unit is adopted for the low frequency band, and a long voice coil realizes a strong and light low sound.
A 4 cm diameter dome type unit is adopted for the middle area.
In addition to improving directivity, it eliminates split vibration in the audible band that prevents sound clarity, and improves transient characteristics and distortion characteristics.
Cloth is used for the edge, the fo is greatly lowered, and the low frequency range is smoothly connected by melting.
A 3.3 cm diameter Lux-type direct ring type is used for the high band.
This tweeter drives the split vibration out of the audible band, only the complete inertial control range, and flatts the response to 22000 Hz.
Directivity is also excellent due to the well-considered diaphragm shape and the effect of equalization.
The network is assumed to be -12dB/oct.
The speaker unit is designed to match the impedance characteristics of the speaker unit. For example, in order to improve the connection between the woofer and the squaker, a network with a unique circuit arrangement is adopted to solve the peak of the shoulder characteristics on the low-cut side of the middle range that appears in the speaker load, or the effect of the squaker on the fo characteristics, so that the sound connection is smooth.
Lauan plywood is used for the enclosure, with 25 mm thick upper and lower panels and 18 mm thick front, rear and side panels.
The reinforcement is T-shaped in the front and back, and reinforcing bars are passed through the side to prevent harmful resonance, and the finish is Shiraki finish.
In addition, a sufficient amount of Bond Acetate Fiber, which has excellent sound absorption effect, is contained in the sound absorbing material to dump low frequencies and prevent standing waves from occurring.
