Commentary

A player system with a floating motor.

The PD441 has the same design as the PD444 and is compact in size because it is for one standard tone arm.

Quartz lock type direct drive system is adopted for the drive part.
By quartz lock system, disturbance load fluctuation of DC range and 1 Hz or less is suppressed, and instantaneous drift and temperature drift are suppressed.
In addition, in order to suppress disturbance load fluctuations in the relatively high frequency band of 5 Hz to 10 Hz or more, which is beyond quartz control, it is necessary to utilize the flywheel effect of the turntable. However, bearing life is a problem. To solve this problem, we have adopted LUX's unique load-free spindle system. In this system, the weight of the turntable is canceled by attracting the rotor upward using the magnetic force inside the motor. This reduces the load of the turntable on the bearing to about 1/5.

The chassis has a sandwich structure in which a high-density chip board is sandwiched between two 3.2 mm steel plates, realizing a structure with high rigidity and low resonance.

Low-fo2-stage damping type insulator is adopted.
This insulator is effective for both micro-amplitude vibration, which causes howling, and large-amplitude vibration, which is likely to occur during player operation.

The arm base part uses a sliding arm base, allowing easy arm replacement and adjustment of the overhang.
The arm base is a combination of a zinc die-cast base and an aluminum extruded material panel. It has a structure that slides on the arm rest rail and is fixed by the lever operation.

Equipped with a platter mat, it dumps a turntable by improving adhesion with a record.

4 mm thick acrylic board bonded dust cover has been adopted.
