LUXMAN PD310
¥ 95,000 (released in December 1981)
Commentary
Turntable equipped with vacuum disk stabilizer with servo.
It employs a vacuum disk stabilizer that adsorbs and integrates the phonograph record onto the turntable. This eliminates the warping of the phonograph record that causes cross-modulation distortion and eliminates resonance between the phonograph record and turntable.
PD310 enables one touch adsorption operation in combination with separately sold adsorption unit VS300.
The conventional adsorption system had an adsorption retention time that cleared the record playing time, but if dust adhered to the sealing pad, adsorption might be released during playing.
The adsorption unit VS300 used for the PD310 is equipped with a function that automatically returns to the adsorption state and realizes a servo function that maintains a stable adsorption level. Since only the amount of the reduced adsorption can be re-adsorbed, there are no adverse effects such as vibrations or the movement of the record to float.
The basic structure of the PD310 is composed of a 30mm-thick softwood high-density particle board. In addition, a 5mm-thick steel plate is sandwiched between the bearing and the arm base mounting part from above and below. Thus, the record, turntable, bearing and arm base are firmly integrated, and harmful resonance is eliminated.
The rotating system has a dead weight of 3.5 kg and a moment of inertia of 500 kg ・ cm.2Heavy duty turntable and belt drive system, and brush & slotless FG servo motor is adopted as drive motor
The motor is fixed through an insulator to damp even minute vibrations. In addition, 2 types of belts are included : extra-fine stainless steel belt and urethane rubber belt.
Large insulators mainly made of natural high quality rubber are used for the legs.
Height can be adjusted.
Arm base is sold separately.
In the early stage, only the TF series with 8 mm thick aluminum shavings was sold, but in the later stage when the PD350 was released, the TG series with brass materials was also sold.
In PD310, slight overhang adjustment is possible depending on the shape of the bolt hole for fixing the arm base.
Rotation speed can be adjusted independently of 45 and 33 rotations while watching the strobe.
Line-phase sensor is mounted on the VS300 side so that the polarity of the equipment can be adjusted.
