Stereo cassette deck for metal tape.

The Senalloy head is used for the read / write head and erase head. The read / write head achieves improved frequency characteristics and stable phase characteristics while the erase head ensures efficient erase capability.
The head mount structure is as precise as that of an open reel deck.

The capstan drive motor uses an FG frequency control type servo motor with 38 pulses per revolution. This motor is firmly fixed with rubber vibration isolators, and three magnetic shields provide excellent SN ratio both mechanically and electrically.

A DC configuration amplifier is used for the read / write amplifier section.
A wide dynamic range is secured by setting the power supply voltage of the read / write amplifier high enough.

Logic control circuit is adopted in the operation part, and tape running operation with feather touch interval is possible.
The logic control circuit greatly simplifies the transmission mechanism for fast forward and rewind, reduces transmission loss compared to mechanical controls, and provides safety measures to prevent tape damage by allowing the switch from fast forward to playback to go through a stop state.

It is equipped with a peak meter using a 24dot/ch. fluorescent display tube.
The meter indicates a range of -40dB to + 6 dB, and holds the range of -5dB to + 6 dB at intervals of 1 dB. In addition, the attack time is set to 10 ms and the recovery time is set to 700 ms, making both excellent responsiveness and visibility compatible. 0 dB is set to 200nWb/m, which is the Dolby NR standard level.
In addition, when recording with metal tape (when the bias switch and equalizer switch are set to EX or metal position), the display is automatically set to + 10 dB.

The tape counter uses a digital electronic display type tape counter with 4-digit 7-segment LED.
For general cassette tapes, the K-12 detects the rotation of the reel base optically and displays the accumulated amount, while for LUX cassette tapes, it detects the rotation of the time detection roller optically and displays the time.
Sorting of tapes is automatic.

Built-in recording mute function.

It is equipped with 3-stage switching function of bias and equalizer with recording and repositioning of metal tape.

Equipped with timer recording function, it is possible to record absence and play alarm by combining with commercially available timers.

Equipped with a Dolby noise reduction system.

Remote control unit AK-I (sold separately) allows remote operation.
The AK-I has the same layout of operation buttons as that of the main unit. In addition to normal operation, autoplay and autorewind are possible as operation functions. Although these functions are switchable, they can be combined for autorepeat operation.
The cord length of AK-I is 5m.
