Commentary
Graphic equalizer of the laboratory reference series.
The 5G12 uses the A sound (frequency 440 Hz) as the reference frequency for the instrument, and divides the audio frequency band into 12 bands at intervals of one octave.
The center frequency of the equalizer is divided into 12 points : 14 Hz, 28 Hz, 55 Hz, 110 Hz, 220 Hz, 440 Hz, 880 Hz, 1.8 kHz, 3.5 kHz, 7 kHz, 14 kHz and 28 kHz. The peak-and-dip amount can be continuously changed for each of these 12 points.
In addition, switching of the sharpness (Q) of peak and dip provided for each center frequency is considered to be able to produce not only relatively steep peaks and dips but also smooth curves within peaks and valleys in frequency characteristics.
It is designed to be used either as a tone control with a large amount of variation or as a linear equalizer with a small amount of variation by switching the maximum variation of the whole peak and dip simultaneously.
It is equipped with a bypass switch that can check the effect of frequency correction.
The 5G12 is designed to be used in conjunction with the DC-configuration amplifier of the Laboratory Reference Series. It uses a resonant circuit that combines semiconductors and capacitors to reduce distortion by eliminating the LC circuit of a very common coil. In addition, the 5G12 is designed to prevent distortion in other frequency ranges from deteriorating due to changes in the frequency-level control, and to ensure that the S / N ratio does not deteriorate regardless of the control method.
In the Laboratory Reference Series, in which legs are attached to the lower part and metal brackets are attached to the upper part, and these are supported by metal supports, so that when the product is stacked, an excessive load is not applied to the product lying below.
In addition, the legs and brackets fit together perfectly so that they do not slip or fall over.
As an optional part sold separately, there was a standard rack mounting bracket of EIA standard.
