Commentary
Tube type pre-main amplifier using triode 6RA8.
For the main amplifier section, a push-pull triode 6RA8 is operated with fixed bias.
In addition, a DC balancer is inserted in the output tube to prevent adverse effects due to unbalance, and the characteristics are improved by precise balance adjustment.
OY14 is used for the output transformer.
This output transformer is made with a CR (directional cold rolling) core and unique winding technology, and is highly praised as surpassing the world's best ACRO SOUND TO 330.
The power supply section uses a power transformer with low magnetic flux density but excellent regulation and a double-wave voltage doubler rectifier using a silicon diode.
In addition, a choke coil is used.
In the preamplifier section, all carefully selected low-noise tubes are operated by DC ignition method to eliminate unpleasant hum and improve the signal-to-noise ratio.
In addition, as the first trial, a booster transformer for input is built in. As a result, a high gain equivalent to about 14 times the sensitivity of the MAG terminal of general amplifier is obtained. As a result, it is compatible with 0.3 mV class low-sensitivity cartridges, which previously required a head amplifier.
The tone control is a separate type in which left and right channels are independent, and Luxman's unique NF type is used.
In this tone control, the starting point of the curve part is placed near the both ends of the frequency in order to suppress the effect on the middle range which was a defect of the conventional tone control.
A specially finished wooden cabinet is used for the amplifier case.
