LUXMAN PL45
¥ 75,000 (released in 1967)
Commentary
A control amplifier developed with the aim of becoming the final version as the last tube type preamplifier.
The equalizer stage adopts the K-KNF type which constitutes the NF circuit from cathode to cathode.
This circuit method was used in the Marantz Model7 tz Model7. It was often used in high-end machines before that. Special attention is paid to the equalizer characteristics. By carefully selecting resistors and capacitors, the equalizer is kept below 0.5 dB.
You can vary the high-frequency range of the tape equalizer by 4 dB.
LUX type NF is used for the tone control, and a switching circuit for the bending point is added to it.
The adjuster is an attenuator type with five ascending and five descending steps. It is also equipped with a defeat switch to provide flat characteristics with one touch operation.
The filter is steep at 12dB/oct. to reduce the effect on the program source.
Switches developed for the PL45 have been adopted.
On the rear, there is a socket to insert a step-up transformer. By inserting a step-up transformer in this socket, a low-power MC cartridge can be used as is.
Equipped with 6421S as a standard, and 6400 series step-up transformer can be replaced if necessary.
