KRS-100
Commentary

Monaural power amplifier of KRS (Kroell Reference Standard) series.

An orthodox pure A class circuit is used for the circuit system.
The KRS-100 does not use a cooling fan, which cannot be avoided with a high-power A-class amplifier, and is designed to use natural convection for cooling, thereby reducing the noise generated by the cooling fan.

The pure A-Class circuit has a balanced configuration similar to that of high-end units, which enables direct balanced connection with a control amplifier with balanced output.

The output stage is a combination of 16 power transistors and 8 power MOS-FETs, which can be used for low-load drives and ultra-low load of 1 Ω.

The power transformer of the power supply section is a 1.8 kva heavy class transformer. Moreover, the plus and minus windings of the balance circuit are separated for exclusive power supply. There are six power supply capacitors of 40,000 μ F, for a total of 240,000 μ F.
